Graduation: Tips for a Stress Free Day

Graduation is such an exciting day. You get to spend it with your family and friends celebrating all of your hard work. However, it can also be quite stressful. There is so much to think about, from timings to outfits, tickets to photos. After graduating last week I’ve come up with some tips to make the day a little less stressful.

Plan your day well in advance

As soon as you find out when your graduation day is, start planning it! You’ll need to pick out an outfit, hire your gowns and probably book a restaurant for your celebratory dinner. Get this done way ahead of time to save last minute stresses, and also to make sure your fave dinner spot doesn’t get booked up. I promise you that if you know exactly what you are doing on the day, you’ll be more chilled!

Read everything twice…then read it again

You’ll get a lot of info in the weeks running up to graduation which you might be tempted to ignore. These emails will probably have all the information you’ll need for graduation day, including timings, locations and what you will need to do. Make sure you read over all of the information more than once so that you know you haven’t missed anything, You don’t want to turn up at the wrong ceremony!

Arrive early

Most unis will want you to arrive a little bit early anyway, but I would turn up an hour or so before they say to. This give you plenty of time to grab your gown, get some pictures and avoid the queue for photos. It also means that you can relax knowing you are in the right place well in advance. Make the most of being in your gowns and take pictures at all the campus hotspots!
