3 Ways your phone can help you with uni

When I was at uni I spent way too much time on my phone (as the Apple screen time feature liked to remind me). Eventually, I decided I should at least put the amount of time I was spending on my phone into something productive to help with my studies. Here are three ways you can use your phone productively (and feel less guilty about those abysmal screen time figures):

1. Quizlet

If you know me, you’ll know how much I LOVE Quizlet. When I was at uni I would make Quizlet sets for literally everything. If you haven’t heard of it, basically it is a revision tool that helps you remember things. You can play all sorts of games on it, and they have a mobile app so you can access your sets on the go. It means you can use your time on the bus to lectures way more productively. Plus, you won’t feel so guilty about always being on your phone.

2. Forest

Forest is an app that lets you plant trees that grow if you don’t touch your phone. I’ve had this app since GCSE and I love it. I’m super competitive with myself and used to try and beat my previous day/week in terms of trees planted. You don’t have to do that by any means, but if you struggle with always being on your phone, plant a tree! I promise you won’t want to pick your phone up as it kills your cute little tree.

3. Tyfy!

Tyfy is all about using your phone! Spending 10 minutes replying to a question about your course isn’t particularly difficult, but it is so helpful for the person who asked the question. Tyfy aims to be as unobtrusive as possible so that you can get on with your day. It is easily one of the best ways to be productive on your phone, as you help someone else. Instead of mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, you can build reviews for yourself that can be used as tangible evidence of your skills.
