Foundation Year has been used in the Foundation Year department at Keele University since 2019, specifically employed to support students entering Higher Education via non-traditional routes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, was instrumental in allowing students to maintain their communities and support networks online.  

78% of Foundation Year students surveyed had not previously been involved with University peer mentoring prior to signing up to Tyfy, demonstrating a large upturn in engagement with peer mentoring. A majority of students enjoyed the ‘community’ feel of; ease of communication, the ability to use messaging functions and the fspecific mentor matching function were cited as key benefits.
